Before your big day, I begin by sourcing fresh Super-8 film stock. Whether you want your day captured in vibrant Kodak Vision 500T Color Negative or classic Kodak Tri-X black and white, I make sure it is prepped and ready. We will go over the key elements YOU would love to see in your special film and the moments that are a MUST to capture. I also love hearing a few songs you’d be interested in using as the soundtrack to your very own Super-8 story.

SHOOT

The art of Super-8 is all about presence and observation. On your big day, I shoot intuitively (keeping in mind all you’d love to have on celluloid) capturing not just big moments like vows and first dances but also the quiet, intimate details that tell your story. Because film is finite, every shot is made with purpose resulting in a film that feels honest, organic, cinematic, and the essence of your love exploding through the lens. You’re the boss in how you’d like this story told! And we will do everything on the big day to capture that.

DELIVER

After the confetti settles, I will package up and prepare your film to be sent off for development and digitization. This process can take anywhere between 5-7 business days. The film is cleaned and scanned in 2k high resolution and delivered via email where I will color correct and edit to the song of your choice! You’ll receive your final digital Super-8 film along with the original film will be sent to you as a timeless and hand-crafted piece of art that will only grow more meaningful with time.

FAQs

I typically shoot three rolls of Super 8 per event, which gives about 15 minutes of raw footage. The final edit is anywhere from 2-5 minutes and is usually set to a single song! I usually roll on a single moment for about 15-20 seconds, remember Super-8 is all about that nostalgia so short clips make that feeling.
Yes! Absolutely additional rolls can be added to your package for $175 per roll. This covers the cost of the film as well as adding it into the development and scan order. If you’re having a multi-day celebration or want more coverage I can easily tailor the amount of film to fit your plans.
Nostalgia takes time to cook! Just kidding. The film will be sent to LA and developed and scanned. Typical turnaround time can be anywhere from 6-8 weeks after your wedding day. Rush processing may be available for an added fee.
Super-8 is a physical, analog process- each roll of film must go through so many hands and forms before it ends up in your inbox. The texture, tone, and essence you get from real film just cant be duplicated with filters. When you invest in Super-8 you’re also paying for a physical handcrafted piece of art that one day you can toss on a projector.
Though rare, film is an organic medium and part of its charm lies in its unpredictability. I take every precaution possible from testing the cameras regularly to over shooting a bit to ensure we have a beautiful usable footage. With a degree in film and years of experience I’ll work with you to make sure the film stock we choose will excel in the places we shoot and I’ll give you a heads up if we may have a hiccup inside or in dark spaces.
